Profile
The founder of Aiki Healing, Kay Hutchinson, is a certified advanced medical qi gong practitioner and acupressurist. She trained in a three year residential program for Chinese medicine at the Longevity Center in San Jose which has a teaching relationship with Stanford University's Integrative Medicine Department.
Kay also received certification from the Acupressure Institute at Berkeley, CA. as an acupressurist.
In addition, Kay completed extra hours in clinical assessment and applications of Chinese energetic medicine not only with human clients but also with animals. She worked closely with Dr. Deborah Mathis, a holistic veterinarian providing consultant services on cases where animals were hospitalized at the Pacific Emergency Veterinary Clinic.
Kay also has a passion for addressing the psychospiritual issues of healing. Her passion for exploring and researching the role of psycho-spiritual issues in healing allowed her to achieve a 4.0 GPA in all graduate coursework completed at the California Institute of Integral Studies.
These studies focused on integrating energetic work through qi gong movement and meditation as a therapeutic healing tool for balancing a wide range of conditions including autism, bi polar disorder, and clinical depression.
Kay is also a Texas triple certified educator including special education. In academic settings, she integrated meditation techniques to empower children and adults with emotional, cognitive and motor challenges. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas with an emphasis on applications in learning and development and was graduated with highest honors.
Kay continues her development as a clinician with studies of the Wu Tai Chi form under the guidance of Dr. Jingyu Gu, L.AC. and professor at Texas College for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, and cosmic tour bagua under the guidance of Dr. Arnold Tayam, head instructor of qi gong for Stanford's Integrative Medicine Dept. and Five Branches Institute (acupuncture college).
In addition, Aiki Healing is committed to making complementary health resources available to all people by offering affordable sliding scale and flexible fee structures.
Last, Aiki Healing is committed to working very closely with other professionals in traditional medical field to to help coordinate care for our clients so that they get the best of all modalities.
